| Lisa's Fried Green Tomatoes |
| 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup of white corn meal 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 4 large light green tomatoes Cooking oil |

| 1. Place pepper, salt, and cornmeal in paper bag
2. Close, and shake until well blended 3. Slice tomatoes 1/4 inch thick 4. Place the tomatoes slices in the bag 5. Close and shake until slices are well coated 6. Remove slices and shake off excess 7. Pour oil 1/4 inch depth in skillet and heat on medium high until very hot but not smoking 8. Fry slices until golden brown turning only once (dont crowd skillet) 9. Drain on paper towels. 10. The tomatoes should be light green in color and crisp when sliced. |
